The Si3220-G-FQR is a 4 wire, 4-section PIN diode switch system specifically designed for Interface-Telecom applications. This device provides a combination of broadband isolation, high power handling and low insertion loss, making it an ideal choice for a variety of applications. The Si3220-G-FQR device is a high dynamic range broadband switch system with low insertion loss and high power handling capability. The Si3220-G-FQR has four individually operable PIN diode switch elements. Each of these switch elements has an associated bias control port and each element is terminated in a 50 W 50W resistive termination. Each switch element can be independently switched from an open to a short circuit state. The switch circuit is designed so that the total isolation between any two ports in an open position is greater than 60 dB. The typical insertion loss is 0.3 dB, the intermodulation distortion is -70 dBc, and the power rating is 500 mW.
The Si3220-G-FQR is controlled by applying DC bias voltages to the bias control ports of each PIN diode switch element. With the bias voltage off, the switch is off and no signal will pass through it. Applying the bias voltage will turn the switch on and enable signal transmission. The bias voltage applied to the switch elements controls the state of the switches and the isolation level.
The Si3220-G-FQR has a very low power consumption which makes it suitable for high power applications. The device has a power of 190 mW when switched on and less than 30 mW when switched off. This low power consumption is one of the main advantages of the Si3220-G-FQR.
