SI4705-D62-GM is a highly integrated, low-power CMOSchip forselectable reception of broadcast FM stereo signals. It integrates a full low-IF FM receiver onto a single chip with an advanced microcontroller-based Digital Audio Processor (DAP). This chip packs a complete FM radio receiver function, including RDS/RBDS reception capability, all within a 3.2 x 3.2mm² QFN package.The SI4705-D62-GM uses high-Q band-pass filters and a frequency modulated low-IF (LIF) architectureto achieve excellent signal selectivity and image rejection performance. The chip contains an advancedautomatic frequency control (AFC) circuit that provides frequency accuracy better than 0.1 ppm. In addition, theinternal low-power oscillator is locked to a temperature-compensated crystal references to ensure high AFC accuracy in a wide range of operating conditions. The embedded microcontroller contains programmable registers that configure the operation of the chip and the DSP controlsthe signal output from the receiver. The chip includes a programmable digital audio interface, allowing it to support a wide variety of audio formats, including stereo FM, mono FM, and both standard and mono digital audio broadcast formats. The SI4705-D62-GM includes an integrated low-jitter clock generator, allowing it to generate very low-latency digital audio bit streams at rates up to 48 kHz. It also includes aselection of output audio formats, allowing for the transmission of analog audio and digital audio overstandard interconnects. The on-chip power management block provides over-temperatureprotection as well as protection against RF overload and voltage overshoot or undershoot. This protective function helps ensure that the chip is not damaged during operation.
