The SI4735-D60-GMR is an RF receiver designed to receive broadcast FM radio within the frequency range of 76 to 108 MHz, utilising the innovative Silicon Labs\' GmrCellular technology. Innovative Silicon Labs\' advanced Real Image inductive signal processing circuitry ensures distortion free sound with no signal degradation, even at signal levels close to the minimum allowable power level. With its wideband FM tuner, the SI4735-D60-GMR is well suited to a wide range of applications where the optimised reception of FM radio is desired.

The SI4735-D60-GMR has a wide range of both hardware and software features which are designed to simplify product design, reduce development effort and speed up time to market. Its receiver has an integrated, fast feedback loop dynamic range control system that adapts to varying signal strengths. The receiver’s exciter system also provides a low harmonic distortion of reduced spurious emissions output. In addition, the SI4735-D60-GMR incorporates a true image detection circuit than can accurately detect incoming signals without any additional calibration or manual tuning.

The SI4735-D60-GMR has a wide range of hardware and software features designed to simplify product design and reduce development effort. The receiver can be designed with minimal external components, including an on-board low noise amplifier, adaptive signal processor, and on-chip memory to store programming setups. Additionally, the SI4735-D60-GMR can be configured to operate from -40°C to 85°C temperatures. The SI4735-D60-GMR also simplifies the circuitry for an FM indoor antenna, greatly improving the reception of distant stations.

The receiver employs a direct digital conversion (DDC) to separate the audio signals from the input signal. This direct conversion technology uses a programmable filter bank and adaptive signal processor to isolate and process the desired audio signals from the complex noise of the modulated signal. The received signal is then further demodulated and filtered by the internal A/D converter. The A/D sample rate can be programmed to optimize the signal-to-noise ratio. Once the signal is sampled and processed, the M/D encoded acoustic signal is ready for further decoders or other signal processing algorithms.

In addition to its advanced signal processing capabilities, the receiver also features an integrated digital audio decoder and DSP (Digital Signal Processor). This allows for the implementation of advanced audio processing features such as automatic gain control (AGC), noise filtering, mono/stereo separation, and bass/treble control. The on-chip DSP allows for better sound quality at lower cost compared to more traditional methods.
