SI5335D-B08867-GM: Clock/Timing - Clock Generators, PLLs, Frequency Synthesizers
The SI5335D-B08867-GM is a versatile, low-power clock generator and fanout buffer designed to provide jitter-attenuated outputs for precision systems requiring multiple frequencies. As a clock generator, the SI5335D-B08867-GM combines integrated crystal oscillators and PLLs to produce multiple programmable output frequencies including single, dual and four-phase differential clocks. The device also integrates output drivers that, dependingon the version, allow developers to expand and/or reduce the total number of outputs required for their system.
Application Field
The SI5335D-B08867-GM is suitable for applications such as communications, video and storage systems, servers, embedded and semiconductor-based systems, ASIC evaluation boards and ADCs/DACs. The device is designed to provide low jitter outputs that are ideal for networking, individual SDI, high speed ADC/DAC, 4G/5G radio, cloud or edge computing, and IoT applications.
Working Principle
The working principle of the SI5335D-B08867-GM is based on the use of two PLLs and one crystal oscillator (XO). The output frequencies generated by the device come from the combination of the frequencies of the two PLLs (F1 and F2) and the XO, Fout = F1+F2+Fxo. The two PLLs of the device can be configured to generate very low frequencies from 1 Hz up to 200 MHz while the oscillator can be used to generate frequencies as low as 10 kHz or up to 200 MHz.
The SI5335D-B08867-GM also offers 6 different I/Os configurations that allow developers to choose the number and type of output clocks they need. It is also possible to adjust output drive strength and levels, and to program clock skew and phase delay. In addition, SI5335D-B08867-GM offers power-saving features such as spread spectrum, automatic powerdown and selectable dynamic power-saving options.
