It uses integrated Frequency Synthesis technology to generate multiple low-jitter clocks utilizing a single 40MHz reference clock. The built-in VCO allows the SI5338C-B02046-GMR to generate clocks in a very wide frequency range from 80MHz up to 800 MHz. It also provides a wide range of divider options for both the reference clock and output clocks for maximum flexibility. For clock synchronization to achieve sub-nanosecond accuracy, the SI5338C-B02046-GMR supports two kinds of protocols. One is a two-wire clock synchronization protocol based on IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) used to synchronize clocks in a single system. The other is a multi-wire synchronization protocol based on IEEE 802.1AS Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) used to synchronize multiple systems. The SI5338C-B02046-GMR clock generator also features superior jitter performance that supports the most demanding systems applications. With its low-jitter performance of just 10ps RMS phase jitter (typical), it allows for cleaner display signals for a wide range of applications such as 4K/8K video and audio stream synchronization.In addition, the SI5338C-B02046-GMR includes a variety of integrated digital and analog features such as fast switchover, auto-chopping and digital calibration to ensure the best performance. It also supports spread spectrum (SSC) clocking to reduce EMI and power consumption.
