The SI5338C-B02078-GMR is a clock and timing device which is specially designed for application specific scenarios. It is an IC with integrated clock solutions for select application-specific requirements. The device supports several high performance features, including clock multipliers, fractional-N and integer-N PLLs, digital delay locked loop (DDLL) technology and low jitter performance.The SI5338C-B02078-GMR is an extremely reliable device, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and high power dissipation ability of 1.221W. Its PLL works by dividing a reference signal from an external clock source by a programmable Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO). The output of the NCO is fed back to the PLL’s phase-frequency detector to produce a phase-locked loop (PLL). This PLL occurs when the output frequency is equal to the reference frequency, leading to a decrease in the PLL’s phase error. This device contains two PLLs; a Principal PLL (PPLL) and a Sub-PLL (SPLL).The SI5338C-B02078-GMR is capable of synthesizing clock signals from a single frequency reference. The device contains a second-order Σ-Δ modulator to further improve jitter performance of the synthesized clock output. The device also has many other features for customization, including slew rate control, frequency and phase optimization and multiple glitch-free operations.In addition, the SI5338C-B02078-GMR features a six-bit programmable, digital delay locked loop (DDLL). This DDLL works by cycling through the clock inputs to look for the best match and synchronize the incoming signal to the output. This feature makes it an ideal choice for applications which require synchronization and high jitter rejection.Finally, the SI5338C-B02078-GMR also has an integrated programmable clock divider. This divider splits an incoming frequency and outputs it at a reduced frequency.
