The SI5351A-B04486-GT is a highly efficient clock generator and phase-locked-loop (PLL) device, making it ideal for applications where low-cost and low-power clock generation and synchronization over a wide frequency range is required. It offers a wide selection of analog, digital, and mixed-signal outputs with a wide input range of 104486 Hz. The SI5351A-B04486-GT is part of the Silicon Labs family of ultra-low-power clock and timing devices, providing flexibility, high performance, and ultra-low power consumption for a variety of clock and timing requirements. This device has a very low operating power consumption and is capable of generating multiple clocks and output at the same time. The device also offers flexible programmable divider ratios, multiple programmable digital outputs with duty cycle control. It comes in packages of up to 24-pins and is WFE suitable.
A major feature of the SI5351A-B04486-GT is its ability to provide clock synchronization through a wide range of frequencies. This is enabled by the implementing frequencies selectable through the use of the internal phase-locked loops or through the programmable divider, ideal for synchronization networks or simple clock generation with cable and/or antenna-based devices. Other significant features are the low-power operation, the high-accuracy and fast switching capability, and the multiple-clock outputs which can be used for fault-tolerance applications.
At the heart of the SI5351A-B04486-GT are two independent, mixed-signal ICs, the NanoClock and the PLL. The NanoClock is an ultra-low-power, zero-drift frequency synthesizer capable of synthesizing frequencies up to 128 MHz with a low-drift of 1.0 ppm from 104486 Hz. It contains a low-jitter, precision oscillator and has high accuracy reference clocks. The second IC is the PLL, which contains a wide range of user-programmable frequency dividers and programmable logic functions.
The PLL also features a wide selection of outputs, including fixed and variable frequency, fractional counts, or free-running offset modes. The PLL can be fine-tuned by a microcontroller or other software control systems to dynamically adjust the output frequency with maximum accuracy and stability. Furthermore, this enables flexible synchronization of multiple clock frequencies, and is able to produce jitter-free switching in transceiver systems.
