SI5355A-B05455-GM Clock/Timing - Clock Generators, PLLs, Frequency Synthesizers is a low power device that can generate a low cost, high accuracy and low jitter clock signal. The device can be used in a variety of applications such as telecommunications, data processing, medical, automotive, industrial, and network clocks. The SI5355A-B05455-GM is especially suitable for applications in which accuracy and low power consumption are of utmost importance.The SI5355A-B05455-GM consists of an 8/16-bit programmable phase-locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer, a low-power temperature-compensated voltage-controlled oscillator (TCVCO), and functions for frequency predistortion, spread spectrum and clock output adjustment. The main application area is clock generation and jitter attenuation, but the device can also be used for frequency synthesis, clock recovery and timing related tasks.In its most basic form, the SI5355A-B05455-GM can be used to generate clock signals with jitter-free frequencies up to 1600 MHz by connecting it to an external crystal oscillator. It offers SPI and I2C control interfaces and can be programmed to generate frequencies as low as 0.01 Hz. It is also a highly integrated device with a highly integrated PLL, which can reduce the design complexity and save cost.The SI5355A-B05455-GM uses a Gigamax™ digital phase-locked loop (PLL) to generate clock signals with jitter-free frequencies from a single crystal oscillator reference. The built-in PLL design is based on a new architecture that uses a continuous time Gm element and an optimized loop filter. This allows for very high-performance clock synthesis at low power consumption and is suitable for high-speed communication systems. The GPLL\'s frequency resolution is up to 0.5 Hz over the operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and an output frequency range from 0.01 Hz to 1600 MHz. The PLL provides an excellent frequency stability of ±250 ppb over an ambient temperature cycling range of -10°C to 100°C.The performance of the SI5355A-B05455-GM is further enhanced by the built-in Predistortion and Spread Spectrum functions. Predistortion compensates for the frequency-dependent losses in a high-speed digital system, while the spread spectrum function reduces the electro-magnetic interference (EMI) of the high frequency clock signals. The spread spectrum function has the advantage of reducing system noise without compromising the switching speed of the clock.The SI5355A-B05455-GM provides a wide range of features, such as power down, selectable spread spectrum frequency and output divider, adjustable frequency tuning via external bias voltage, and a test mode that can be used to fine-tune the performance of the device. The output accuracy of the device is further improved by the use of a calibration mode, which adjusts the device with the lowest possible frequency deviation. This ensures a minimal frequency error and a maximum possible accuracy. The device also has an improved power supply noise immunity, which allows the use of low-cost systems and reduces the possibility of system malfunction. The SI5355A-B05455-GM has a temperature compensation circuit and a high current driver, which helps to increase the frequency stability of the oscillator. In addition to its low cost and power consumption, the SI5355A-B05455-GM also offers a wide range of features and wide frequency range.
