The SI8284CD-IS is an isolated N-Channel, gate driver from Vishay Semiconductor. It provides a cost-effective solution for increasing the reliability of power circuits by significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and external noise. The SI8284CD-IS is composed of two building blocks: an input/output isolated power device (I/O IPD) and an isolated driver device (IDD). The I/O IPD serves as an opto-coupled circuit to electrically isolate the input and output pins of the device, providing a high immunity to noise and EMI interference. The IDD consists of state-of-the-art circuitry and has been optimized for the standard operating voltage of 40V.

The output drive capabilities of the SI8284CD-IS allow it to drive high power N-channel MOSFETs, enabling efficient power conversion in motor control and power inverter applications. The drive current is adjustable between 2A and 12A via a sensing resistor, while the internal multiplexer enables each output to be individually adjusted to reduce the total programmable power consumption.
