Programmable Oscillators

A programmable oscillator is an electronic device designed to produce an electronic signal at any frequency, usually within a wide range of frequencies, with very good accuracy and stability. Programmable oscillators are used in many applications such as communications, instrumentation, radar, test and measurement, and research and development.

One example of a programmable oscillator is SIT1602AIR1-25S. This programmable oscillator combines a highly accurate voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), an ultra-stable reference circuit and a non-volatile memory (EEPROM) onto one integrated circuit.

The SIT1602AIR1-25S programmable oscillator includes a temperature compensating frequency range of 9 to 25MHz, an adjustable output frequency of 0.25 to 25MHz, and a high resolution of 0.2Hz. The device has very low output noise, low phase jitter, and high frequency stability over wide temperature ranges. It also has a low startup power consumption of only 0.5mW. Its high accuracy and stability make it ideal for precision applications.

The application field of the SIT1602AIR1-25S programmable oscillator is diverse. It can be used in digital radios, communication systems, instrumentation, microwave systems, high speed digital sampling systems, and point-to-point wireless applications, among others.

The working principle of the SIT1602AIR1-25S programmable oscillator is based on the VCO technology. The oscillator consists of an LC tank circuit, which has inductance and capacitance.
