SIT1602BI oscillators are used in an extensive variety of frequency-critical applications, such as disk drive controllers, sigma-delta converters, Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs), Clock & Data Recovery (CDR), high speed networking applications, GPS reception, RF transceivers and servers, among others.

Working Principle

The SIT1602BI oscillator is a quartz crystal driven by a proprietary CMOS chip configured into a 3-pin ceramic package. It utilizes a low jitter quartz crystal as its frequency reference. Quartz crystals are made up of tiny quartz crystals and impurities inside a sealed container such as a ceramic or metal housing. The quartz is then tuned to the specific frequency desired. It generates clock pulses at the same frequency as the quartz crystal.
