Programmable Oscillators

The SIT9005ACL1H-30NO is a programmable oscillator designed for frequency control in a wide range of applications. The device consists of an oscillator core, a divider module, a phase-locked loop (PLL) device, and a programmable voltage-control oscillator (VCO). It is designed to provide a low phase noise, high-level frequency accuracy, and a wide frequency tuning range, making it ideal for use in systems that require precise and highly-deterministic frequencies.The core of the SIT9005ACL1H-30NO is a quartz oscillator, which is very stable and accurate. It uses a damping circuit to reduce the oscillation amplitude, and a feedback loop to adjust the frequency with an accuracy of ±1ppm. The divider module determines the output frequency of the device by dividing the oscillator frequency with a selectable factor from eight different possible dividers. In addition, the device also features line-frequency synchronization, allowing the frequency of the oscillator to be locked to an external reference clock.The PLL device is a complex device designed specifically for frequency synthesis. It consists of an oscillator, a phase detector, a frequency divider, and a loop filter. The frequency divider sets the frequency of the output signal, while the phase detector compares the reference signal and the output frequency and provides an output error signal to the loop filter, which adjusts the oscillator frequency to meet the reference frequency. By using the PLL, frequency hopping and tunability of the output frequency are possible.The VCO provides a means to manipulate the phase/frequency of the output signal. It consists of a voltage-controlled crystal oscillator, an amplifier and a voltage-controlled capacitor. The capacitor stores a charge and the amplifier provides an output voltage proportional to the stored charge. By varying the output voltage, the frequency of the oscillator can be changed. The resulting frequency can be controlled by inputting a digital signal to the VCO, allowing for frequency hopping and tunability.The SIT9005ACL1H-30NO is designed for use in applications requiring precise frequency control, such as test instruments, radio communication systems, video transmission, antenna tuning and tracking systems, public address systems, and frequency synthesizers. It is ideal for applications where low phase noise and high-level frequency accuracy are required. With its wide frequency tuning range, it is also suitable for use in multi-frequency systems, such as frequency-hopping radios and spread-spectrum networks.
