Optical sensors are ubiquitous in all sorts of applications. They’ve been utilized in industrial, automotive, consumer and other settings to detect objects and enable efficient control of a system. One particular type of optical sensor that is often used is the photointerrupter; this is a a device which uses a light-activated switch to detect the presence of an object.
