SL23EP08SC-4H is a low-cost, Low Phase Noise Clock Generator IC available in Pb-free RoHS compliant package for clock and timing applications. The device is designed for CMOS processes and incorporates a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) architecture suitable for communication systems, microprocessors and video applications. The device uses an external crystal oscillator to generate a base clock frequency. It then uses the PLL architecture to get various other frequencies from the external crystal input. The SL23EP08SC-4H generates lower phase noise, higher frequency resolution and a wider division rate range for applications requiring high-performance clock and timing solutions. The device is capable of providing output frequencies from 12MHz to 396MHz with a wide range of division ratios, including 4, 8, 16, and 32. The PLL architecture used in the device also helps reduce jitter.The SL23EP08SC-4H can be used in a variety of applications, including clock and frequency synthesis, clock matrix, frequency multiplication, clock distribution, clock recovery, and frequency synthesizers. It is equipped with a wide range of features that make it suitable for both consumer and industrial applications.The SL23EP08SC-4H uses Digitally Controlled Oscillator (DCO) technology to provide lower phase noise clock outputs. DCO is based on a fractional-N frequency synthesizer architecture. With this approach, the synthesis of an output signal is achieved by configuring a divided clock and a divide-by-N signal. This method can be used to reduce jitter while ensuring an extremely wide range of frequencies. Additionally, DCO technology allows the selection of wide fractional-N divisions.The SL23EP08SC-4H also supports a wide array of user-configurable settings and control functions. It comes with an integrated differential programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a 3-bit programmable output voltage shift (Volts) for output voltage control. Additionally, the device offers a wide range of digital control signals for adjusting parameters such as output enable, pull-up/pull-down, inverted tri-state enable, and power-down.Overall, the SL23EP08SC-4H is a highly reliable and versatile clock generator IC designed to provide lower phase noise and wider fractional-N divisions.
