The Texas Instruments SM32C67xx family of Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) is a low power, high performance, and cost effective solution for embedded applications. The SM32C67xx family, in particular, the SM32C6711DGDPA16EP is designed for a broad range of embedded applications including media, industrial control, automotive, medical, and consumer electronics. The SM32C6711DGDPA16EP, being part of the SM32C67xx family, utilizes a multi-channel high performance architecture, which offers scalability as well as an extended range of power/performance for various applications. The SM32C67xx family of DSPs are based on a multi-channel, multi-threaded, application-specific architecture designed specifically to address the computational requirements of modern embedded applications that utilize real-time signal processing. This architecture consists of multiple cores, and each core is capable of processing instructions in parallel. The core micro-architecture of the SM32C67xx is optimized for applications requiring low power consumption in a highly parallel processing environment. This allows the user to achieve higher throughput than traditional single-threaded architectures while consuming the same or lower power. The SM32C6711DGDPA16EP features an array of peripheral I/O ports and peripherals. This includes a high-speed SXI-bus, two high-speed TDM buses, two I²C buses, three SPI buses, one UART, one Ethernet MAC, two direct-memory-access (DMA) channels, two high-speed CMOS/TTL I/O ports and two general-purpose ports. These provide easy communication to external peripherals, allowing for easy integration with the device. Additionally, on-chip peripherals include up to four Timers, GPIO ports, USB 2.0 PHY, CAN interfaces, and general-purpose I/O pins that can be easily controlled via software. The most important feature of the SM32C6711DGDPA16EP is its efficient power consumption. The device is powered by an advanced multi-channel power management system designed to provide ultra-low power consumption while still delivering performance.
