SMK9130A1 is an evaluation and demonstration boards and kits, released by Sonix Technology Co., Ltd. It includes many integrated circuits(ICs), memory devices, configuration devices and many other components.
The application field of SMK9130A1 can be roughly divided into two parts: embedded systems and audio/video systems. In the embedded system, it can be used for testing the effect and executing programs of MCU systems, for example, ARM Cortex-M series. In the audio/video system, it is mainly used to develop and demonstrate the design for integrated audio and video devices, including digital media players and digital televisions.
SMK9130A1 is an evaluation and demonstration board based on 1240A108 system-on-chip (SoC). This SoC contains a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a 2D/3D graphics processor, an onboard DDR3 memory, a NAND Flash memory and an IEEE 802.11ac wireless LAN/Bluetooth interface. It works at 1GHz, supporting 3D graphics, video and audio decoding/encoding. Thus, it is suitable for the development and demonstration of modern multi-media applications.
The working principle of SMK9130A1 is relatively simple. To begin with, power is supplied to the board from an external power source, which is connected to the power connector. Then, the internal processor executes code stored in the on-board NAND Flash memory, which is programmed or replaced by the user. The internal processor then begins to execute the code. Each processor is capable of executing different functions, including reading the onboard sensors and controlling external devices. The board also contains an audio/video decoder, which can decode video/audio streams and convert them into analog signals. After the analog signals are converted, they are sent to the display for further processing.
Apart from the internal implementation, the user is also provided with a graphical user interface (GUI). This GUI enables the user to control and interact with the board, view the internal status of the board and access the data stored in the board’s memory. Furthermore, users can also debug and program the board through the debug serial port.
