The SMP1300SCMC thyristor series is designed for a wide range of applications throughout the industrial and automotive industries. The device has a low forward voltage drop and offers a high level of thermal stability and reliability. The device features an integrated auxiliary temperature sensor for precise temperature measurements and is capable of high current surges. The SMP1300SCMC also offers a built-in inrush current control circuit and an adjustable fault trip shutdown. The device has a high power dissipation, and its switching is fast and reliable.

The internal gate structures of the SMP1300SCMC prevents the current from passing unless a positive gate voltage is applied.
When the positive trigger voltage is applied to the gate, the device conducts and can remain in a conducting state, even after the gate voltage is reduced to zero. This feature, known as latching, keeps the device in a stable conducting state until the current is reduced to zero or the anodic temperature falls below the set value. The SMP1300SCMC is designed to automatically recover after a continuous overload with the help of its inrush current control circuit and its fault-trip shutdown circuit.
