SN65DSI83Q1-EVM: Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits The SN65DSI83Q1-EVM Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are designed to help evaluate and demonstrate the features and performance of the SN65DSI83Q1 embedded display serial interface (DSI) solution. It is specially designed for low-power displays and portable applications, such as cell phones, tablet PCs, medical devices, and digital signage solutions. This solution combines the popular Ultra Low Power Snapdragon™ processor with an integrated DSI solution developed for video integration that supports a wide range of display resolutions and integrates with other essential functions like image-processing and audio-processing. This pack allows user to access a wide range of industry standard video and audio signal sources for easy evaluation and test of the general performance of this DSI device. Application FieldThe SN65DSI83Q1 chipset comes with an integrated DSI solution, making it the perfect choice for portable applications, such as cell phones, tablets, medical devices, and digital signage solutions. The integrated address transitions, link integrity test, and power management make it easy for designers to create low power applications with this solution. The SN65DSI83Q1 also supports up to 1080P full HD video for application such as photography, video, and gaming applications. Furthermore, this solution also supports MIPI D-PHY which enables testing of the latest standards for advanced display technologies and display components.Working PrincipleThe basic principle of the working process of SN65DSI83Q1-EVM is the integration of display and audio signals from the various sources and the data exchange process between the ultra low power Snapdragon™ processor through the DSI and D-PHY interfaces. The device enables access to multiple video and audio signal sources, including DVI/VGA, HDMI, and S-video. The data flow is from the DSI interface to the processor and vice versa. It is based on the MIPI Alliance standard.The SN65DSI83Q1 supports a variety of features including image-processing, audio-processing, connectivity, power management, and low latency audio and video. Image processing includes adjusting contrast, sharpness, and color saturation as well as resolution conversion from standard to ultra-high definition. The audio processing features include dynamic range control, noise suppression, equalization, and reverberation control. Furthermore, it supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interfaces for wireless streaming and connectivity.The SN65DSI83Q1-EVM also supports an additional feature of Ambient Light Sensing (ALS). This feature allows the device to sense the surrounding environment and adjust the display\'s brightness automatically, thus conserving energy. This solution also supports advanced power management by providing two types of power management modes, Active and Sleep, in order to optimize the power consumption of the device.
