Inputs are supplied in complementary form for each logic gate and inverter; with PMOS transistors forming the positive side and NMOS transistors forming the negative side. The PMOS and NMOS combination provides the basic logic concept of “if-then” logic. This allows for output states that depend on their inputs and the logic required.
