The SN74LVCH245AZQNR is a low-voltage Quad Bi-directional Transceiver with 3-State Outputs provides bidirectional voltage-level translation in standard and low-voltage applications. Its bus-friendly design allows the driver output to be connected directly with the receiver inputs to simplify system design. The device is designed to eliminate the need for direction-control logic by using the Output Enable (OEn) for bidirectional bus control. The SN74LVCH245AZQNR operates from two supplies: a 3.3V supply and a 5V supply.Features of SN74LVCH245AZQNR include low-voltage logic and transceiver designs, near zero standby power outputs, buffer and logic gate outputs, and high speed 8-bit transceivers. A data or address type signal is connected to either or both of the data inputs (A or B). When the output enable (OEn) is LOW, the device accesses data present at the A-side inputs, translates the A-side input levels to B-side output levels, and presents the results at the B-side outputs. Similarly, when the output enable (OEn) is HIGH, data present at the B-side inputs is translated to A-side output levels. A separate output enable (OEn) is provided for each direction of data flow. To ensure a proper translator connection, the output enable (OEn) must not be LOW simultaneously for both directions.For the 3.3V side, the SN74LVCH245AZQNR has three logic input pins designated as A3, A2 and A1 and three output pins designated as Y3, Y2 and Y1. When the Input Enable (IEn) of the 3.3V side is high, all data applied to the A-side is controlled by the A1, A2 and A3 lines. When the OEn is LOW, data is available at the 3-state Y1, Y2 and Y3.For the 5V side, the SN74LVCH245AZQNR has three logic input pins designated as B3, B2 and B1 and three output pins designated as Z3, Z2 and Z1. When the Input Enable (IEn) of the 5V side is high, all data applied to the B-side is controlled by the B1, B2 and B3 lines. When the OEn is HIGH, data is available at the 3-state Z1, Z2 and Z3.When the 3.3V and 5V sides are connected with the SN74LVCH245AZQNR, the logic levels are translated according to the following scheme:inputs of the 3.3V side:- A3 = 1, A2 = 0, A1 = 1- A3 = 0, A2 = 1, A1 = 0inputs of the 5V side:- B3 = 0, B2 = 1, B1 = 1- B3 = 1, B2 = 0, B1 = 0outputs of the 3.3V side:- Y3 = 1, Y2 = 0, Y1 = 1- Y3 = 0, Y2 = 1, Y1 = 0outputs of the 5V side:- Z3 = 0, Z2 = 1, Z1 = 1- Z3 = 1, Z2 = 0, Z1 = 0The SN74LVCH245AZQNR can also be used to drive open collector/drain outputs with an active low output.
