The SN74LVT240ADBR is a logic device designed in accordance with Texas Instruments’ proprietary LVT logic. It is a type of device within the Logic – Buffers, Drivers, Receivers, Transceivers family and is used to increase the drive current, enable single-ended input/output structure, and enable high-speed operation of digital systems. The SN74LVT240ADBR is composed of four bidirectional transceivers, each with three-state output controlled by the two input signal associated with its direction control. These transceivers are designed to provide high-speed signal transmission using LVT logic capabilities, so the operating Voltage is 5V. The device also provides disconnection from external circuits by its internal three-state output control. This makes the SN74LVT240ADBR ideal for driving large capacitive loads.The SN74LVT240ADBR is suitable for a variety of applications, ranging from bus contention control to clock synchronization and signal conditioning. The device features a high-speed High Limiting control enabling up to 50% higher typical propagation delay than other similar devices.In terms of operation, the SN74LVT240ADBR works based on two input signals to control whether data is transmitted or received. The OE (output enable) input works by grounding it. Then the data is bidirectionally transmitted. As for the data inputs, these can be TTL level high, TTL level low, or left high-impedance. The SN74LVT240ADBR is composed with inputs and outputs on all eight channels, each of which have their own circuit protection diodes.
