The SN75185DW is a quad differential line driver designed to interface data transmission lines to systems that require differential line drivers. This chip is intended for digital data transmission applications at speeds up to 10 Mbps and voltage levels compatible with TTL or other digital logic. Each of the four drivers within the SN75185DW is designed to provide logic level signals to two corresponding differential pairs.

The SN75185DW drivers have the special ability to propagate signals in both directions. This reflected power flow is used to boost signals up to the standard TTL and ECL logic levels, and also reduce interference from adjacent lines. This is already taken into account in the SN75185DW\'s design; no additional external components are required to achieve this effect.

The SN75185DW\'s operating voltage range is 5V to 15V. The chip also has an integrated common-mode feedback system, which is used to keep the common-mode voltage at the points of connection of the driver with the transmission line constant. The common-mode feedback system ensures that all outputs stay within the 0.4V to 2.4V common-mode voltage range.

The SN75185DW also has integrated output current limiting and automatically set output low and high thresholds. These features protect the device from potential output snubbering or overshoot, which can damage the logic on the receiving end. It also prevents the SN75185DW from being overloaded, which would damage the chip itself. Finally, the SN75185DW can be used in noise-sensitive applications, as its integrated noise reduction circuitry ensures that only clean data is transmitted from the device to the receiving end.

The SN75185DW is ideal for use in applications such as high speed digital communication systems, microprocessor-based data communication systems, industrial control systems, and high speed logic bus circuits.
