Working Principle

The SP208EHCT-L/TR is designed to provide a level-shifted, bi-directional data bus interface between controllers and peripheral devices. It incorporates a single-bit latch and control logic that enables it to transmit, receive and drive data in a low-voltage, high-speed application. The device includes two independent input-enable pins (E1 and E2) that allow the bus to be simultaneously enabled for multiplexers which contain multiple cases of address decoding.

The device has 2 working modes:

• Standard mode, which realizes 8-bit data transmission and reception.
• Multiplex mode, which realizes a data width of up to 16 bits.

The device has 8 latching ports. Data is received on the serial data line (SDI) and outputed on the serial data output (SDO). The data is latched on the rising edge of the latch clock (LCLK) and is outputed on the rising edge of the shift clock (SCLK). The device has an active-low reset (RST) pin, which upon being held low, initializes the device and clears the latch.

The SP208EHCT-L/TR can be used in a variety of applications such as LCD drivers, UART interfaces, or in networks for data transmission.
