Working Principle

The SRAH-05A1500’s working principle is based on the concept known as Switching Regulator. It uses a power transistor or FET as a switch to convert the input into the corresponding output voltages. This switch is cycled on and off at a high rate, called the switching frequency. The switching rate of SRAH-05A1500 is up to 150KHz.When the transistor is in the on state, its source voltage (Vin) is equal to the voltage present at its drain (Vout). The voltage across the switch (Vsw) is equal to Vin minus Vout. When the transistor is off in between cycles, the stored magnetic energy in the transformer flows through the diode supplying the output voltage.The output voltage is regulated by controlling the on and off times of the transistor or FET i.e when the off period is longer than the on period of the switch the output voltage is decreased and vice versa. The output voltage can be adjusted by varying the duty cycle of the switching transistor.
