Fixed Inductors are commonly used in electric circuits to serve several purposes, such as energy storage, radio frequency (RF) chokes, and impedance matching. Overview

Mechanical Characteristics
The SRU3028-220M is constructed of a ferrite core with a ceramic body. It has a footprint of 0.6x0.6x0.4mm and comes in 24 and 32 pin packages. The inductance values remain relatively consistent over a wide range of temperature and are highly linear.
The maximum DC bias for this device is 0.8VA, which allows for high reliability operation. The inductance is relatively low, so the device does not require much current for efficient operation. The inductor is capable of handling high peak current because of its low saturation level. The SRU3028-220M is also able to withstand high temperature environments.
Working Principle
The SRU3028-220M inductor works on the principle of induction. When a current is passed through the coil, the resulting magnetic field induces an electromotive force (EMF) in the core. This EMF opposes the applied current and is known as back EMF. As the current increases in magnitude, the back EMF also increases until the two forces become equal and oppose each other. At this point, the current cannot increase any further. This is known as the saturation point of the coil.
The SRU3028-220M is an ideal device for high efficiency applications because it has a low DC resistance and a low saturation point. It is able to transfer energy from one electrical circuit to another with minimal losses. The low DC resistance also prevents undue losses through self-heating. The SRU3028-220M has a relatively low inductance value (2mH), which makes it highly efficient at low frequencies.
