ST8034PQR Application Field and Working Principle
The ST8034PQR family of transceivers is designed for many applications such as consumer, automotive, industrial, and medical. The transceivers enable point-to-point and multiple-access communication in various environments. These transceivers are used in applications ranging from simple full-duplex differential data communications to complex automotive communication networks.The ST8034PQR family of transceivers offers a range of channels and baud rates, allowing for easy applications of point-to-point and multiple-access communication. The transceivers use differential voltage signaling and support both single-ended and differential signaling operations over standard transmission lines.The ST8034PQR uses an innovative "On-chip" wake up detector that automatically detects activity on the bus, interpret the activity, and wake up the program/microcontroller to receive/transmit information. An on-chip state register stores the detected activity and allows the processor to interpret the data. This allows the transceiver to rapidly enter and exit the low power mode and quickly receive/transmit data.The ST8034PQR family of transceivers employ dual power Domain architecture, allowing for the highest efficiency in terms of power and current consumption during transmission and reception modes. The transceiver achieves lower power consumption by automatically switching to the idle mode once the data is sent or received. This reduces the overall channel power dissipation and allows for longer battery life. The transceiver also supports an extended power range, allowing for low voltage operation for battery powered applications.The ST8034PQR transceivers also feature an innovative power management /clock generator with an adjustable output clock rate, allowing for high and low speed data transfer without sacrificing power efficiency. The clock generator can operate with a variable frequency and can switch between low-power and high-speed modes as needed. This advanced clock generator enables the transceiver to quickly transfer data between multiple nodes in a network.The ST8034PQR family of transceivers also feature an integrated interrupt module that can be used to quickly recognize and respond to communication events.
