The STM6718TGWY6F is an integrated Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) that uniquely combines Supervisors and Reset ICs (RSTs) into one versatile product, designed to provide a reliable reset and power-on sequencing solution for a wide range of applications.STM6718TGWY6F contains 3 supervisor and reset functions: Reset, Power On Reset (POR), and Power Off Reset (POR). In addition to these, it also provides a status output and configurable watchdog timer.The reset pin is connected to the system reset line, and provides a reset signal when the supply voltage is too low, the voltage is too high, or a brown-out occurs. The Power On Reset (POR) pin is connected to either the output of the board’s power supply circuit or one of the power rails (depending on the system design). When the voltage on the POR pin drops below the user-defined threshold, the POR pulse will be generating, initiating the power-on-reset sequence.The Power Off Reset (POR) pin provides similar functions as the POR, but is triggered when the voltage on the POR pin rises too high. This is useful in applications where the power supply must be reset after prolonged inactivity or when the input voltage goes outside of its specified range.The status output provides an indication of the state of the power rail, allowing the external system logic to monitor the state of the board.The configurable watchdog timer provides the ability to initiate a reset when a period of activity is not detected, resetting the microcontroller if it stalls or becomes stuck in a loop.The STM6718TGWY6F is ideal for applications such as servers and communication systems, where reliable power sequencing and reset functions are required.
