STPCH4MBBR (submerged thermophilic packed-bed membrane bioreactor) is a novel wastewater treatment technology combining fixed-film biological technology with membrane filtration. Application Field

Working Principle

The working principle of STPCH4MBBR process is mainly composed of four processes, i.e. adsorption, biological oxidation, separation and recycle:

Adsorption: In this process, the pollution in the wastewater is first adsorbed onto a suitable adsorbent material, and then the adsorbent material is transported into a thermophilic bioreactor. Due to the high temperature environment in the bioreactor, the organic pollutants can be quickly and efficiently degraded.

Biological Oxidation: In this process, the thermophilic bacteria in the bioreactor will start to degrade the organic pollutants. During this process, the oxygen in the wastewater will be consumed as the energy source, and the organic matter will be converted to carbon dioxide and other harmless substances.

Separation: In this process, ultrafiltration module is used to separate the solid particles in the wastewater from the liqud. The organic particles will be retained on the membrane surface, while the liquid will be passed through.

Recycle: In this process, the liquid that has been separated will be recycled and reused in the biological oxidation process. And the solid particles will be discharged as sludge.
