The onboard Safety over Voltage(SOV) threshold on the input voltage is from 6V to 97V.

The STR05S12 has a wide input voltage range of 8V to 72V that allows it to be directly connected with ac voltage sources without any additional voltage regulating equipment. During the operation, the onboard feedback voltage and the output voltage are compared and this difference is processed with the internal PWM control loop to generate the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal.

The PWM signal then controls the switching of the onboard transistors. The PWM signals are of a very high frequency, which ensures the minimum noise and allows efficient conversion. The onboard MOSFETs are controlled by the PWM signal and the transistors are then driven with an added schottky diode to prevent any large losses from happening.
