STTH2002CFP Application Field and Working Principle
The STTH2002CFP is a high power rectifier suitable for applications in an uncontrolled rectification in off-line SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) and DC/DC converters. The STTH2002CFP is a very efficient surge and avalanche current rectifier (200V, 2000A) and it has a low reverse leakage current making it suitable for applications in the rectification of direct current from alternating current. It is also suitable for continuous high frequency operation.
The STTH2002CFP can be easily isolated from its high voltage environment through its isolated flat package technology. It has a blocking voltage of 200V and a surge rated current of 2000A, making it suitable for applications like lighting ballasts, DC/DC converters, off-line SMPS and AC/DC converters. Its reverse voltage of 15V ensures it can work in both half wave and bridge rectifier configurations. Its overall dimensions are 11.50 mm by 8.10 mm, making it very compact and ideal for high density integration.
Working Principle
The STTH2002CFP rectifier works on the preset principle of reverse biased diode characteristic. When in reverse biased diode characteristics mode, the diode conducts electricity in the forward direction and blocks electricity in the reverse direction. This is the exact basic functionality of a rectifier. The STTH2002CFP is built to a very high standard and can perform poorly when subjected to extreme temperature, humidity, voltage and current.
The rectifier also has a peak reverse current of 0.020 amps, which is a basic criterion for an efficient rectifier performance.
