The SVC270-TL-E is an example of a Variable Capacitance or Varicap or Varactor diode. Working Principle of the SVC270-TL-EThe working of the SVC270-TL-E is based on the principle of the Variable Capacitance or Varicap or Varactor Diode. It is a two-terminal semiconductor device, wherein a reverse-biased diode junction is used to store charge. A reverse voltage is applied to the junction thus creating a depletion region dropping the voltage present across the junction. This depletion region or space-charge region, which decreases or increases depending on the applied voltage, is able to store charge. Although the stored charge within the junction ranges in value, it affects the junction\'s capacitance, thus allowing the device to have an adjustable capacitance.

Application Field of the SVC270-TL-EThe SVC270-TL-E has a wide range of uses, due to its adjustable capacitance which allows it to be used in frequency tuning and phase shifting circuits, voltage controlled oscillators, phase locked loops and many more.
