The SWS5010 and SWS5015 are AC/DC converters primarily used for industrial automation, renewable energy, medical, testing and measurement and consumer electronics applications. The SWS5010 is a single-channel AC/DC converter, while the SWS5015 is a dual-channel AC/DC converter. Both models are capable of providing high-efficiency power conversion from AC to DC with precise regulation.
The SWS5010 and SWS5015 are designed to deliver excellent performance in turn-on-and-forget applications where long run times and high reliability are key. Both models have a wide input voltage range from 85-265VAC, which are suitable for almost all global AC line power. Additionally, both models feature a wide output voltage range from 0-24V. This flexibility makes the SWS5010/5015 a cost-effective solution for a broad range of AC/DC conversion needs.
Each of the SWS5010/5015 models contain a two-stage 66% efficient power factor corrected (PFC) and synchronous Rectified DC/DC switching converter with a total efficiency of up to 91%. It includes a main PFC stage and a secondary synchronous boost stage, which ultimately provides high-quality DC output voltage. The SWS5010/5015 models feature an automatic restart when an over-voltage or overload condition is detected.
Intelligent protection includes both short-circuit and over-voltage protection. Over-voltage protection is set to PROTECT state when VOUT>V(OV). Even in continuous overload conditions, the converter will automatically shut down after ~5 seconds and then restart when the over-voltage or overload condition is resolved. Under-voltage protection is also included on the SWS5010/5015 models with UV that is typically set to ~4.5V for standard applications and can be set to 4.3V for high-performance applications.
The unit operates in a continuous power mode and switches between half-bridge and full-bridge configurations depending on the output loading. The frequency of the switching is optimized to minimize the noise and the harmonic distortion. Additionally, both models are equipped with an NTC thermistor with a positive temperature coefficient, which provides self-protection against exceeding the device\'s thermal rating.
The SWS5010/5015 AC/DC converters and their many features make them well suited for various industrial and consumer electronics applications.
