The main purpose of a logic-translator, level-shifter, or voltage translator is to adapt a given logic signal from one voltage rail to another. This allows devices that operate at different voltages to be connected and used in the same system. This type of device is necessary and can be found in nearly every kind of circuit that includes computer, embedded, and communication systems. The SY100EL91LZC is a family of 5V level translators from Cypress Semiconductor which offer improved performance, low noise, low power consumption, and are compatible with 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V signaling. Working Principle of SY100EL91LZC

Each of the SY100EL91LZC devices contains an output stage, configurable during design. It is also capable of supporting a wide range of loading conditions. These are bidirectional voltage translators suitable for power bus interfacing between two logic regions which operate at different power supply voltages. All logic inputs and outputs are CMOS/TTL compatible and feature a low "OFF" logic state current. The devices also have a logic-level conversion circuit for each of the six bidirectional I/O pairs that can be configured for bi-directional protocol conversion.

Application of SY100EL91LZC

These family of 5V level shifters from Cypress Semiconductor offer solutions for different types of applications.
