The SY100S325FC is a low dropout (LDO) transient translator. It is designed to pass high-speed logic levels from one standard logic family to another, while allowing for translation of logic levels from one voltage range to another. Additionally, the SY100S325FC can be configured for A to B voltage translation or buffering applications.

The SY100S325FC provides the designers with a choice of small, low-power, low-voltage level translators with 4-bit resolution. It enables voltage level translation without the need of manual loop stretching, reducing power consumption and eliminating jitter produced by the high-frequency switching of identical input and output logic. The SY100S325FC supports two-way logic level translation capabilities and is available in 3 “footprints”, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The SY100S325FC uses an internal charge pump to provide up to 8 V Vcc supply voltage, allowing voltage-level translation over a wide common-mode voltage range of VINH to VINL with no external components. The device is also equipped with 4-bit resolution with independent control of each bit. This allows for simultaneous level translations of all 4 bits, allowing for flexible and easy to configure level translation solutions.

The SY100S325FC is suitable for a wide range of logic-level translation applications. The device can be used to connect a 2.5V logic signal to a 3.3V logic signal, or a 3.3V logic signal to a 1.8V logic signal. It can also be used to connect two logic signals of different voltage levels, such as 3.3V and 5.0V. Additionally, the SY100S325FC can be used to buffer low-voltage I/O signals, such as SmartCard I/O, to provide extra drive strength and enable better noise immunity when buffering high-speed signals.

The working principle of the SY100S325FC is simple. The device has two modes, active and quiescent. In active mode, the input logic level is translated to the output logic level according to the programmed slope. The quiescent mode is used to connect the input signal to the output signal by bypassing the slope delay. The quiescent mode is triggered when the input voltage is outside the active voltage range or the signal is below the level-translation threshold.
