The SY10EL11VZG-TR is a low skew, high-performance clock buffer designed to distribute clock signals. It is part of a family of ultra-low voltage Low Skew Advanced Clock Distrubtion Family (ACDF) devices from Microchip. It is ideal for applications that require low-skew and high-performance clock distribution for systems using low-voltage, high speed components and signals. This device is especially useful for distributing clock signals in multi-board or multi-system applications, and to equalize clock skew across off-chip devices.

The SY10EL11VZG-TR provides a total of eleven buffered outputs, and delivers a full swing output with a low skew of just 7.9 ps. Its integrated cascadable design allows it to easily expand the number of outputs. The maximum output frequency can also be increased when multiple devices are used in cascade configuration. The device also features a low propagation delay of just 7.8 ns and a low quiescent current of just 15 μA.

The device is designed for use in systems using Standard Low-Voltage Positive Logic (SLVPoL) and Standard Low-Voltage Differential Signaling (SLVDiff). It utilizes a low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface compatible with most popular SLVPoL and SLVDiff logic families. This ensures that the output signals are compatible and fast enough to maintain data synchronization among on-chip devices.

The device operates by taking in an input signal and sending out up to eleven replicas of the same signal at the correct frequency. This is achieved using an oscillator connected to the input pins, which creates synchronous signals with the correct information and frequency. The data is then sent to eleven outputs through the device’s internal buffers. Depending on the device’s configuration, each output can either be a buffered replica of the input signal, or it can be a buffered inverted version of the input signal.

The SY10EL11VZG-TR also features built-in power-on reset, active low disable, and active low reset functions, for improved reliability and greater control over the device’s operation. These features provide users with the ability to maintain the desired output even when the input signal is changing or fluctuating. Additionally, the device is capable of monitoring the input signal, enabling dynamic power savings through clock gating.
