The SY10EPT28LZI device is a universal translation and input/output level shifting solution that provides a low-cost, high-speed and low-power option for some of the most advanced general purpose applications. This device is a complete 3-state logic translator and level shifter, which provides the capability to interface and bridge between two different logic families and/or levels. The device is designed to operate with a wide range of voltage ranges, and supports different logic families, such as TTL, LVC and HSTL. As an input/output level shifter, the device provides level shifting and signal conditioning between any two voltage targets, up to 28 different voltage targets, including several high and low level logic families, such as ECL, PECL, CML, LVDS and HCTL.
The SY10EPT28LZI is designed to be a part of a general purpose solution, reducing costs, power consumption and time-to-market applications. This device is targeted towards applications such as broadcast video, communications and networking, printer/scanner and storage systems, industrial control, audio/speech processors and automotive applications. In these applications, the device is often used to bridge and interface between different logic families and/or voltage levels. The device is capable of supporting data widths ranging from 1 bit to 16 bits and is generally paired with an FPGA or ASIC as part of a general purpose interface solution.
The working principle of the SY10EPT28LZI is based on three main components. Firstly, the device is based on the industry standard 3.3V translation and input/output level shifting circuit architecture. This architecture provides the capability to easily bridge between industry logic families, such as TTL, LVC and HSTL. Secondly, the device is designed to provide level shifting capabilities between any two voltage targets, up to 28 different voltage targets, including several high and low level logic families, such as ECL, PECL, CML, LVDS and HCTL. Finally, the device integrates an Automotive Grade Programmable IO (AGPIO) interface, providing the capability to determine the source and target voltages, program the level shift rules, and provide error checking and safety.
