Thyristors, static converters regulated by the gate revolutionized the use of electronic power control in the industry. SCRs or silicon controlled rectifiers are generators of high power that are triggered by low power signals. One of the popular SCRs used in many applications is the T514F module.

The T514F is a four-quadrant SCR module manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductors. The device is made of four SCRs, which are integrated into one module and can provide up to 600A of the DC output current. The module also has an input voltage control range of 20V–280V. It is commonly used for power controllers and is available in a variety of packages.

The T514F has two main applications. The first application is related to motor control, such as switching on and off the motor, setting the speed, or controlling the acceleration and deceleration.
