Tantalum capacitors are electrolytic capacitors which consist of two electrodes - a foil anode and a wire cathode. The foil anode is usually a porous structure on which tantalum pentoxide layer is formed by an electrolytic process. Due to the low volumetric efficiency of traditional electrolytic capacitor designs, these tantalum capacitors are advantageous in terms of size, temperature stability, capacitance stability, low impedance, and volumetric efficiency. The application field of these capacitors has become more and more expanded, and you can find these tantalum capacitors in applications such as telecommunications, computers, consumer electronics, and power electronics.
