Tantalum capacitors, commonly known as \'tantalum caps\', are a type of electrolytic capacitor. These capacitors are constructed from a sintered tantalum anode in a cylindrical package with a sprayed on anode electrolyte, a plated anode, wound paper cathode and finally a sealed plastic or metal case.
