Tantalum capacitors are a kind of polarised capacitors with an anode made from tantalum, and an electrolytic solution for the cathode. The essential parameters of tantalum capacitors are capacitance, rated voltage, quality and ESR. T95S685K6R3ESAL is an ultra-miniature moulded SMT capacitor series made by using a solid manganese dioxide as the cathode with an epoxy-resin coated body.

The size of T95S685K6R3ESAL ranges from 2.0mm×0.85mm to 5.0mm×1.25mm, which makes them an ideal application for portable electronics like mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and other handheld devices. The capacitance of T95S685K6R3ESAL series ranges from 2.2uF up to 47uF and the rated voltage ranges from 4V up to 10V. The low ESR values also make them suitable for power supply filtering.

The working principle of tantalum capacitors is based on the anode material.
