TAS5760LDCAR - Working principle

The TAS5760LDCAR maintains a high signal-to-noise ratio with a low harmonic distortion plus noise (THD + N) of 0.02%, and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.01%. The amplifier supports a recommended amplification gain of 20dB and has an adjustable input sensitivity range of 200mV to 10V to optimize the audio level output.

The TAS5760LDCAR incorporates advanced input multiplexing capabilities which dynamically select active analog and digital sources. Inputs include a stereo analog input with two differential inputs on one end and single-ended RCA inputs on the other, in addition to S/PDIF, I2S and PCM inputs. Three selectable gain modes are available, with 3dB increments, to match different audio sources.

The TAS5760LDCAR also provides an active bass boost for an enhanced low frequency response. It is designed with a four-channel background noise gate, capable of attenuating audio noise when the input source is static or not present. An integrated low-pass filter eliminates any high-frequency noise.

The headphone amplifier offers independent volume and bass control and includes an automatic level control (ALC). Electronic volume control with a +/-12dB range allows users to adjust the output level of the amplifier.

TAS5760LDCAR - Power Management

The TAS5760LDCAR incorporates power management and advanced power-saving features for improved efficiency. It supports a single ± 15V power supply and an optional separate 3V power supply for the analog-to-digital converter.

A high power efficiency is assured by the advanced ACFC (Advanced Class-F Crossover) technology and high-efficiency power stages. The ACFC technology reduces power losses by using different crossover points, depending on the distortion level of the signal, to provide optimal efficiency in each operating region. The high-efficiency power stages offer a maximum output power with an efficiency up to 90%.

The TAS5760LDCAR also features integrated low-power modes, which reduce the power consumption of the amplifier when the audio signal is low or not present. In the Zero Volt and Sleep modes, the amplifier’s power consumption is reduced to less than 0.3W. This low-power mode can be set in either hardware or software.
