At the heart of the TAS6424QDKQQ1 is an amplifier with differential inputs and outputs, based on Texas Instruments’ proprietary VIPower (Very Low-Power Intense) technology. This technology enables very low power consumption of the amplifier and also helps reduce unwanted noise.The amplifier has three basic parts: the input stage, the output stage, and the gain/attenuation control. The input section contains dual differential input stages and a single-ended input stage with programmable gain. The output stage consists of two transistors with a common current source, and it is capable of driving low impedance headphones directly or buffered outputs. The gain and attenuation in the amplifier are programmed via two registers (0 and 1) inside the TAS6424QDKQQ1. The gain is adjustable in 64 steps of 0.0625 dB increments over the span of 0 dB to 24 dB.
