TC1266VOA is a special purpose voltage regulator which is commonly used in a wide variety of applications. It is designed to provide a constant output voltage regardless of significant fluctuations in line, load and temperature conditions to ensure maximum system performance. This voltage regulator can be used in a wide range of power management, industrial and communication related applications including, but not limited to, telecom, routers, switches, modems, base stations and power supplies.Features of the TC1266VOA
There are a number of features that make the TC1266VOA suitable for a variety of applications including low noise operation, low dropout, temperature stability, input and output range flexibility, current limiting, and transient protection. Additionally, the regulator is designed for safety and is certified for safety according to TUV, CSA, UL, and IEC standards.The output voltage can be factory adjusted from 0.3V up to 5V and is also adjustable via an external resistor divider. The design of the regulator also allows for load regulation of better than ±3% over the full load and line range, making it suitable for use in applications with dynamic and fluctuating loads.The TC1266VOA also features a wide input voltage range of 3V to 36V, making it suitable for applications with varying input voltages. The device also offers a fast transient response time and is immune to output voltage transients due to its low quiescent current and high frequency of operation.Working Principle of the TC1266VOA
The TC1266VOA uses a switching regulator topology, also known as a Buck converter, to provide a constant, stable output voltage. The regulator works by converting a higher input voltage to a lower output voltage by switching the input voltage on and off in a regular pattern. The on/off pattern is controlled by the on time (t1) which is the time that the input voltage is switched on and the off time (T2) which is the time that the input voltage is switched off.The switching regulator topology has a number of advantages compared to linear voltage regulators, including higher efficiency at lower output voltages, lower input current ripple, and higher power dissipation. However, the regulation of this topology typically requires more complex circuitry than a linear regulator, which can increase the cost of the design.The TC1266VOA is designed to provide excellent line, load, and temperature regulation over a range of operating conditions. It achieves this by operating in an adjustable PWM (pulse width modulation) mode. The chip has an internal or external clock signal to control the switching frequency of the device. The internal clock signal has a frequency of 500KHz while the external clock signal can range from 100KHz to 1000KHz.The TC1266VOA employs a voltage sensing circuit to detect the output voltage of the device. The voltage sensing circuit consists of an internal or external voltage reference, a voltage divider, an error amplifier and a loop compensation network. The voltage reference provides the reference voltage for the voltage divider which then feeds the error amplifier.
