The TC1303B-PG0EMF is a current-mode multi-phase controller for multi-phase DC/DC converter applications. It is part of the PMIC-Voltage Regulators-Linear + Switching category and is designed to provide accurate and reliable output voltages by controlling the output voltage during converters\' load cycles. This part is a high-current, low-dropout linear and switching regulator integrated circuit (IC), which is suitable for a variety of applications, and can provide an output voltage range of 4.5V to 12V. In the switching mode, the device uses internal high- and low-side MOSFETs, which are connected to the switching prop pin and switch nodes, respectively. The switching prop pin is also connected to an internal oscillator, which creates a square wave signal. This signal is used to drive the MOSFETs connected to the switch nodes and control the output voltage. The internal oscillator can be programmed by external resistors and capacitors to adjust the switching frequency. When the load requirements change, the output can be adjusted by the MOSFETs.

These include an over-voltage protection, over-current protection, under-voltage protection, thermal shutdown, as well as short-circuit, drop-out and power down protection.
