Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC)Analog to digital converters (ADC) are electronic devices which convert analog signals into digital signals. They are an important component of any digital control system, as they enable more accurate measurements that can be readily processed and interpreted by a computer. The TC7109ACPL is one such ADC, designed as a low-power, low-voltage circuit specifically intended for use in power-sensitive applications.The TC7109ACPL is an integrated 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Toshiba. It is capable of converting analog inputs into 10-bit digital outputs. It is designed for low-voltage operation and for power sensitive applications. The digital signal is then passed to the up/down counter which uses the digital signal to create a digital count. The next stage is the digital-to-analog conversion, in which the digital count is converted back into an analog signal. This analog signal is then passed through the analog multiplexer to select the desired input or output channel. Finally, the digital-to-time converter converts the digital count into a proportional time duration. This time duration is then used to control the output of the ADCs and produce the desired result.The TC7109ACPL is a popular option for applications in automotive, consumer and industrial markets.
