The TC74VHC4040FK is a dual modulus down-counter with a microcomputer-compatible synchronization-reset feature belonging to the Logic - Counters, Dividers family. It features a five-stage ripple carry down-counter with a maximum count of 32K which is synchronized with a reset for the elimination of noise problems. The counter is latchable by external clock pulse or by synchronized-reset. The reset can be controlled by external signals or by manual control.
