.The TCA8424EVM-038 is a powerful low power 8-bit GPIO expander. It provides up to 24 configure-able and deboucelable I/O lines which can be used to expand general purpose I/O pins for various microcontroller based applications. It is intended for use as an evaluation and demonstration platform in industrial, scientific and medical applications.
The TCA8424EVM-038 is based on Texas Instruments TCA8424 low power CMOS GPIO expander. It enables control, communication and interaction of multiple devices through a single I2C bus. The board is configured for use with target system through a 2.54mm pitch snap-in header connector. The board is further populated with LED and jumper settings, allowing quick and easy connection of target system for evaluation and demonstration.
In order to evaluate the performance of general purpose I/O IO pins of TCA8424EVM-038, the board has several test points that can be used to measure parameter such as DC supply current and pull-up resistor settings of the pins.
