Working Principle of TCAN1043HGDMTTQ1
The transceiver provides differential CAN data line transceiving according to ISO 11898-2:2003 specifications for reliable communication of CAN bus frames at decoupled nodes. It is designed for differential I/O standard of 5V and is compliant to the automotive Electrostatic Discharge standards. The transceiver supports Multi-frame message handling, which allows data frames to be sent & received in targetted high speed data frames or broadcasted in low speed data frames. All frames are transmitted and received in a two-level CRC check. The transceiver has an active differential driver, which pulses the data from the transmitter in both upward and downward direction to the physical layer. This ensures reliable transmission and transmission robustness in a noisy environment. At the same time, the receiver provides the default dominant state output, thus implementing correctness in data. For each transmitting frame, the transceiver sets the falling edge first, followed by the rising edge. The bus transceiver is able to balance and amplify the signals, reduce the common mode interference, and ensure the signals integrity. Due to its small size, the transceiver integrates two differential receivers and two differential drivers. The receiver outputs low level when detecting dominant logic state, while emitting high level when detecting recessive logic state. For two driver nodes: they generate two different voltage levels to represent two logic states of 0 and 1, which is compatible with both active-low and active-high CAN bus data frames. The transceiver supports bus fault monitoring, monitoring the bus nodes for active pulls of low voltage to detect bus fault conditions thus protecting the communication bus from out-of-spec voltages which may be induced from outside sources. It also supports single wire fault detection interface, which can easily detect the single wire fault conditions (short circuits/open circuits). The transceiver provides error frame detection for detecting and interpreting errors in transmitted frames on the CAN bus. It is also able to indicate whether there is an interfering noise on the line, hence improved filtering and signal integrity. In conclusion, TCAN1043HGDMTTQ1 is an automotive single-channel CAN transceiver which provides multiple functions such as differential line transceiving, electrostatic discharge protection, line fault monitoring and integrated of termination resistors. It supports multiple application fields such as in-vehicle networks, vehicle access applications and autonomous driving systems. The working principle of this transceiver is based on differential I/O and is compliant with the automotive Electrostatic Discharge standards.
