Common Mode Chokes, also known as Coman Mode Filters and Line Filters, are a form of passive electronic component used for filtering out conducted noise (or electromagnetic interference – EMI) in power or signal circuits. This noise, which is typically of a differential (or noise) voltage or current, is removed via induction that results from the magnetic field developed within the core winding structure of the Common Mode Choke. Common Mode Chokes usually take the form of inductors with two or more parallel windings, each having a symmetrical magnetic path through the core, as well as having the same number of turns.
The TCM0403S-350-2P is a Common Mode Choke consisting of a ferrite core wound with two parallel metallic windings. The core material is an amorphous ferrite with a high permeability allowing much higher inductance than air or powdered iron cores. The windings consist of an aluminum-coated copper wire, with an identical number of turns, allowing it to provide a high degree of EMC suppression. Due to the double-winding structure and their construction, the chokes offer high resistance against C-field, E-field and D-field influences.
