The TDA7466 is an Audio Special Purpose integrated circuit capable of handling input from both stereo and mono amplification in small audio applications or home entertainment systems. It provides both accurate switching capabilities and volume control to construct a simple and cost effective setup for both audio and video applications.

Based on its original application field, the TDA7466 was initially designed for few watt audio amplifiers that require low noise and distortion performance. The TDA7466 is a single-chip stereo audio processor featuring four channel inputs, dual volume and balance control and 9-band graphic equaliser with four user defined registers. The device has a split voltage Single Chip Stereo Audio Processor, with configurable gain as a main feature. It contains dual pre-amplifer inputs, volume, balance and loudspeaker relay outputs, as well as push on-push off key control.

The TDA7466 has three main features: the main amplifier, the signal signal processor and the stereo decoder. The main amplifier is a Class-AB push-pull amplifier, with a power output of up to 15 W per channel into an 8Ω load. This amplifier is capable of operating at a wide range of supply voltages including 3 V and 5 V, as well as 12 V, with the power level remaining the same. The output is then amplified by the main amplifier and sent to the speakers. It also features controller inputs to handle the master volume, balance and tone control functions.
